The Culp Family: Everywhere During and After the Battle
The Culps were perhaps the largest family in town with nearly everyone being related by marriage to them and all people knowing several Culps. Culp males were members of the Union army; one Culp led General Reynolds to the battlefield; two Culps fought each other at Winchester; Culp women served during and after the battle as nurses; a Culp family were the stewards of the alms house. Oh, and there’s that prominent hill named after the Culps.
